If you are told that you are
being laid off or bumped,
We Are Here to Help
A union representative will meet with you individually to make sure your rights and benefits under the union contract are being followed. To best assist you and prepare for the meeting with you, we will need you to provide the following information:
- Your name
- Job title
- Pay grade
- Hire date
- Name of Department/School
- Years of service in your current job title (if different from hire date).
Describe what management has told you. If you are offered an alternative to bumping, what are they saying? Did they discuss money, unemployment, COBRA, etc.? What benefits and services did they tell you about? The more specific you can be the better.
Provide a brief description of your current job skills and any recent professional development classes you’ve recently participated in.
Let us know what time of the day is best for you to meet with a union representative.
Please email this information to the union office at firstname.lastname@example.org. If you do not have access to email, send the information by fax 646-602-9554. If you cannot email or fax the information, please have it ready before you set up an appointment with a union representative.
